The Wilds of Connemara
Connemara is Ireland at its most beautiful, remote, mythical best. Out here, you can walk through bogs and alongside loughs, dodge sheep, visit quaint villages, feast on fresh seafood, and enjoy the understated luxury of one of the country’s finest castle-hotels, Ballynahinch Castle. Further explorations can take you up valley paths amid the Twelve Bens, up the Sky Road to a Bronze Age site and to the tidal island of Omey. Most importantly, rural wanderings put you in touch with the country’s greatest asset—her warm, welcoming people. And having travelled here as long as we have, we’ve got friends in every bog and there’s always a pint waiting for us at the village pub.
