Carbon Neutral Trip
Newfoundland is shaped by sea, story and time. Follow in the wake of Vikings and settlers, drawn by cod-rich waters and windswept shores. Sip molasses-tinged Screech, sway to Gaelic rhythms at lively “kitchen parties” and feel centuries of seafaring spirit in every note. Drift past towering icebergs, spot whales breaching in wild blue and stand on some of the oldest stones on Earth. And when the day ends, wind down in places like Fogo Island Inn—part sanctuary, part work of art and fully unforgettable.
Newfoundland’s rugged coastlines and open seas offer unmatched encounters with puffins, whales, dolphins and more—perfect for wildlife watching, boat tours, sea kayaking and coastal hikes.
You’ll meet the heart of Newfoundland through its people—fishermen, chefs, artists and musicians—sharing stories, traditions and a way of life shaped by the sea and salt air.
Crab boats at dawn, icebergs in the bay and coastal traditions like boil-ups, boat-building and quiet harbour life create a rhythm that’s uniquely Newfoundland.

Good to know

Time of year
While iceberg sightings are never guaranteed, Newfoundland’s “Iceberg Alley” peaks between late May and early July.

Terrain
Most walks range from easy to moderate with minimal elevation gain; however, sturdy hiking boots or waterproof shoes are recommended, as trails can become boggy—especially in spring.

Motion/sea sickness
While they are optional, there are some exceptional boat-based activities on these trips. If you suffer from motion sickness, come prepared.
