Carbon Neutral Trip

Umbria is Italy in soft focus—misty mornings, monk-strolled lanes and vineyards that roll on forever. Wander cobblestone towns where time politely hit pause, sip olive oil like it’s fine wine (trust us), and bed down in castles-turned-hotels. With Reschio’s rustic-luxe magic and a soundtrack of Gregorian chants, Umbria invites you to slow down—and stay awhile.

Hidden Gem

Umbria is a captivating hidden gem, often overshadowed by its famous cousin in Tuscany, meaning you'll have it (mostly) to yourself.

Exclusive Access

B&R’s local connections in the region allow you to sample the best it has to offer, from exclusive access to private homes and wineries to the spectacular Reschio Estate.

Timeless Charm
Experience the timeless charm of Umbria in towns like Perugia, Assisi, Spello and Gubbio. Here, you'll uncover a world rich in history, where every cobblestone tells a story waiting to be explored.

Explore Umbria on Foot

St. Francis of Assisi was the original advocate for traversing Umbria on foot—and the trend has endured. Follow in his footsteps among shimmering olive branches on the Sentiero degli Ulivi, sampling freshly pressed ‘liquid gold’—olive oil—along the way. Hunt for truffles beneath oak and beech forests, mingle with the flora and fauna in Monti Sibillini National Park, savour unparalleled dining and unwind in five-star spas at the end of your day.

Indulge in Umbrian Food, Wine & Culture

Umbrians are quite modest about their culinary riches, including delectable prosciutto di Norcia, creamy pecorino cheese and the oft-photographed fields of blooming legumes. We’ll take you hunting for prized forest truffles with hounds, sharpen your skills in a Michelin-starred cooking lesson and invite you to enjoy a meal overlooking a multi-generational family vineyard. Wash it all down with a glass of Sagrantino red and a drizzle of fresh olive oil. For culture, you'll discover divine purity in St. Francis’ Basilica in Assisi, walk with historians through Gubbio’s gothic castle and gaze upon masterworks by Titian and Raphael in Urbino’s 15th-century palace. Whether tuning into Latin vespers in a simple wooden chapel or dancing under the stars at Perugia’s renowned jazz festival, the spirit of Umbria will move you.

Embrace Luxury in Your Private Villa

Unpack once and make a charming, luxurious Umbrian villa the cornerstone of your stay. From here, set out on daily excursions to explore Italy’s ‘Green Heart’ and connect with the locals. Take a morning walk with a local naturalist through the surrounding meadows to forage wild herbs and flowers. Make fresh pasta in your kitchen, comb the forest for truffles with an expert and his hounds, watercolour with a local artist or simply relax into the slow, sweet rhythm of the countryside by the pool. You’ll feel like a local once you’ve settled into your own luxury villa—the hardest part will be heading home.
