Tuscany & Umbria Walking

Scheduled trips are expertly curated itineraries with pre-selected dates that anyone can join, capped at 16 people for an intimate experience.

From the Golden Land to the Green Heart

In Tuscany and Umbria, slow down to a gentle pace of life and wander from golden-hued horizons to lush, verdant lands. Your journey begins tracing the hills of Montepulciano and Val d’Orcia, travelling along age-old routes that were carved into the landscape step by step. Pass vines tended by generations of winemakers and travel through Pienza, a picturesque Renaissance town. In Umbria, indulge in local cuisine and crostata made with our friend Agnieska, and spend a day exploring endless olive groves, flowering meadows and forests. At the end of each day, spend time relaxing at your beautiful hotels—from the brand-new Casa Newton to Monastero di Cortona, a converted monastery, and Hotel Castello di Reschio, a thousand-year-old castle.

DAY 1

Our adventure begins in Tuscany, where we’ll set out on foot from the Renaissance temple of San Biagio, eventually reaching the charming village of Monticchiello for lunch. After an afternoon walk, we’ll reach Casa Newton and indulge in an afternoon swim. This evening, we’ll gather for cocktails and dinner as we toast to the beginning of our week together.

Level 3

For the most part, you’ll walk on gently rolling terrain, although there is the occasional steep climb or descent to take on. As the terrain can be rocky, footwear with good ankle support is essential. On average, we walk 10-13 km (6-8 mi.) daily.
