Daily walks range between 3 to 11 km (1.85 to 6.85 mi.), on cobbled city streets, grassy terraced hillsides and the winding footpaths of the Inca Trail. We travel through the Sacred Valley at altitudes between 2,100 and 3,700 m (6900 to 12000 ft). Apart from the challenging walk up to Machu Picchu, the trip is moderate. You may find, however, that the altitude requires more effort than at lower elevations. Expect some uneven stairs on our hikes in the ruins as well as some sheer drop offs in places.

Your trip will end at the main train station in St. Pierre des Corps in time for the direct 10:39am train to Paris Montparnasse. Most flights from Paris to North America depart in the late morning or early afternoon; therefore it will be difficult (though not impossible) to fly home that day. We recommend spending at least one night in Paris unless you are disposed to catch an earlier train on your own. Those who need to go to CDG airport can take the 10:54am train arriving at CDG airport at 1:04pm. Most of the riding on this trip is level with gentle grades, but be aware that the Loire Valley is not flat, there are several longer climbs. The daily distances average 45 km (28 mi.). There are three layover days, which allow for some shorter routes and, for avid cyclists, longer options.

We bike along truly flat bike paths and quiet country roads. Although the routes are flat, we may encounter headwinds on some days. Average daily distance is 45 km (28 miles).

We'll meet in the lobby of Hotel Pulitzer and take a short drive directly into the heart of the bulb fields, where we’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how the flowers are grown before meeting our bikes. It’s a short easy ride to the main floral attraction: Keukenhof Gardens, where seven million flowers are on display! Delve into Dali’s backyard: ride rolling volcanic hills dwarfed by the Pyrenees, explore time-stamped villages and feast on molecular cuisine.

The riding is varied with the majority of terrain being rolling hills and flat stretches on quiet country roads. There will be a couple of challenging climbs that can be conquered at your own pace (and perhaps even enjoyed, as they bring us to more amazing vistas!) There's much to see in Ireland's west—and more to taste than you might think: from frothy Guinness and fresh mussels to tender lamb and wild-caught salmon.

Our average bike ride is 53 km, with the option one day to do a 102 km Century Ride. Our ride in the Entre Deux Mers lets you warm up your legs, as the topography is flat or very gently rolling. Most roads are very quiet, with a few busier sections in towns.

This trip is appropriate for travellers who take long walks three times a week and don’t mind a little sweat. It involves navigating steep, rocky terrain with no flat walks. We will depart as a group from the Vik hotel at 3pm, arriving to the Santiago International Airport at 5pm for your flight home, and then continuing on to downtown Santiago if you are extending your stay in Chile. The daily bike rides will average roughly 45 km (28 mi.) on good quality, paved roads with shorter options available for each ride.

This trip is rated Recreational. Daily biking distances usually vary from 35 to 50km (19 to 31 mi.), with options on some days as far as 66 km (40 mi.). The terrain is generally flat, with a few hills along the way in the Ostuni area and along the coast. The difficulty of the ride often depends on which way the wind is blowing.

Your driver will meet you in the arrival’s area of Bari Airport, after you’ve collected your luggage. Your driver will have a sign with your name on it and will transfer you (one hour) to Matera.

Our walking is somewhat hilly with a few steep sections, and a few flat ones. For the most part, we stay on the dirt paths that run through the vineyards, countryside and along the coast, but we occasionally take quiet asphalt roads. The walking on Etna is exposed with some loose gravel. The daily distances range from 7 to 13.5 km (4.3 to 8.3 mi.) with van support or shorter options for when you’re ready to relax back at the hotel.
